Therapy for students in Inverness

Research suggests that students in the UK are often weighed down with anxiety and stress and many are less happy than the general population.

How we can help students

Our team is experienced in working with students and young people with a broad range of issues including anxiety, stress, low mood/depression, loneliness, eating and body image issues, relationship concerns and much more.

Reasons for poor student mental health

Some common factors that contribute to student mental health issues are
  • Having less access to their families and friends (emotional support network)
  • Academic pressures and concerns
  • Financial issues

Mental health and universities

Universities and colleges usually have some provision for student wellbeing including mental health, however this can vary widely throughout the UK and a recent study found that many students are wary of using the service provided by their university.

Common mental health issues in students

A recent report found that anxiety is the most common mental health condition experienced by students with stress and loneliness also being prominent.

International students – additional issues

Students from overseas often face additional issues as a result of being further from family and friends, in a foreign culture, and having additional financial and academic pressures to consider. Find out more about our services for international students

Therapy sessions to fit around your studies

We offer therapy in-person and online and a combination of these options can be helpful for students who wish to continue therapy during the holidays. We offer sessions during the daytime, evenings and on Saturdays so we can usually offer you something that will fit around your lifestyle and studies.

Parents of students

If you are a parent who is worried about the mental health of their adult child, we can help put your mind at rest. If your young person is willing, we can speak to them and book them in for an initial therapy session. If you wish to pay for their sessions, to allow them to focus on their wellbeing, you can do this online once they are booked in.

All of our practitioners are carefully selected by us and we make a number of checks to ensure that they are fully qualified, supervised and insured to provide the therapies they offer.
