Therapy for children or young people in Inverness, Highlands
Therapy for children or young people can provide support to help your child deal with life and any particular issues they may have. Children and young people sometimes struggle with issues such as confidence, low mood, anxiety or anger and may have trouble in certain areas of their lives such as with friendships or at school. Our experienced psychologists and family therapists will work with your child or young person in a gentle way so they feel supported while they work through their problems and issues.
Typical issues that we can help your child with include:
- Adolescent or child behaviours, e.g. attention and over-activity issues
- Adolescent or child mental health
- Changes in family life / relationships
- Drugs and alcohol abuse
- Eating disorders
- Emotional difficulties following bereavement
- Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
- Post-trauma difficulties
There are a range of therapeutic approaches that our practitioners may use when working with children. Depending on the difficulties your child is experiencing, we may discuss using one or more approaches. We may also suggest family therapy in certain circumstances if we feel this may be more beneficial.
We will discuss any recommended therapy for children or young people with you in full and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions.
