Jill Holland is an applied psychology practitioner who works with individual adults, couples and adult families with a wide range of issues and problems including: anxiety; depression/low mood; stress; abuse and neglect; anger/aggression; assertiveness; autism spectrum disorder; bereavement/grief; bullying; eating and body image issues; exam stress; gender and sexual identity; life transitions; loneliness; low self-esteem; obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD); post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); relationship concerns; relaxation; self-harm; trauma; and many more issues. 

Jill has particular experience working with gender-based violence, honour-based violence, and adverse childhood experiences.
 

Jill's way of working

Jill is a respectful, compassionate and sensitive practitioner who aims to provide a warm and welcoming space in which clients can explore their difficulties. Her main training is in person-centred counselling / psychotherapy and she often also integrates elements from other techniques such as cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy into her therapeutic work to meet the individual needs and preferences of each client.
 

Jill's background and training

Jill has experience working as a person-cented counsellor/psychotherapist offering one-to-one counselling for women experiencing abuse. She is a founding member of the board of trustees for a local charity supporting survivors of rape. 

Jill has an MSc in Forensic Psychology and Mental Health from Coventry University, an HE Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy, a BSc in Forensic Psychology from The Open University and a COSCA Counselling Skills Certificate in Person Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy. 

Jill is an accredited member of COSCA, an accredited graduate member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a member of the National Counselling Society (NCS).


 

Jill's fee
