Kate Boyd is an experienced counsellor specialising in transactional analysis, eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), and hypnotherapy. She works with adults and young people (age 12 and over) experiencing a wide range of issues including: anxiety; depression; stress; bullying; loss and bereavement; trauma related issues; separation and divorce; redundancy; relationship issues; low self esteem; and confidence. Kate also works with couples and groups.
Clients have found hypnotherapy useful for issues such as: weight management, smoking cessation, pain management, unwanted habits and phobias.
Kate's professional memberships, background and training
Kate is a counselling member of COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland) and an Associate of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis (BSCH). She is also a Registered General and Mental Health nurse with experience of working in occupational health and nurse education.
She holds a Diploma in Transactional Analysis counselling, a Post Graduate certificate in Clinical Hypnotherapy and an MEd degree from Aberdeen University. She has also completed a course in Mindful Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and she is undertaking post-graduate work in clinical hypnosis.
